Breastfeeding
A fed baby is a healthy baby.
Did you know breastfed babies have a lower risk of SIDS? If you are producing milk, the AAP recommends breastfeeding as the sole source of nutrition for your baby for about 6 months.

Did you also know it is so easy for a mother to fall asleep while nursing? Hormones, bonding and connection can make both mom and baby sleepy. The #1 cause of death for babies in the U.S. is accidental suffocation in an unsafe sleep area; the #1 unsafe sleep are being co-sleeping. Over 1,000 babies a year die in a co-sleeping space. If you are nursing, please move to a space that is less likely to permit you to fall asleep. We know several families who have lost their baby due to falling asleep while nursing in bed and we do not want this to happen again.
